Somatic Breathwork is a therapeutic practice designed to help you release stress and trauma as well as promote emotional healing. Through deep breathing exercises you are guided to connected your mind, body, and emotions. Somatic Breathwork helps you access and release suppressed emotions that contribute to stress, anxiety, or physical tension.

KEY ASPECTS OF SOMATIC BREATHING

Somatic Breathwork uses accelerated breathing to release stored emotions and trauma, then slower intentional breathing to promote relaxation and process those emotions. This dual activation of the nervous system reduces stress, completes the trauma cycle, and helps break destructive patterns.

HOW WILL SOMATIC BREATHWORK MAKE ME FEEL?

Calm & Relaxed:

Numerous studies have shown that Somatic Breathwork can significantly reduce stress levels. This type of breathwork can help you feel calm and tranquil by activating your parasympathetic nervous system,  which is responsible for the "rest and digest" response.

Physically Healthier:

The deep diaphragmatic breathing used in Somatic Breathwork has been shown to improve lung capacity, circulation, and overall respiratory health. It can also aid in digestion and reduce muscle tension. It has been shown to improve sleep quality (insomnia), lower blood pressure, and reduce symptoms of burnout.

Clear:

When your Sympathetic Nervous System is activated through accelerated breathing, it heightens your alertness and focused attention. As part of a somatic breathing session SNS activation can give you clarity, and make you feel more alert, creative, and inspired.

Improved Mental Health:

Research suggests that somatic breathwork can be beneficial for individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It can help regulate emotions and promote emotional resilience.

By bringing conscious awareness to your breath, which is typically regulated unconsciously,  . You can have a memory from your past play across your mind.

Reflective:

Liberated
Through
Release:

Research suggests that somatic practices can help support emotional regulation and can assist people in processing and releasing pent-up emotions, including those related to past traumas. You can feel lighter after processing and releasing stress, unprocessed emotions, and past traumas.

Emotionally Intuned and
More Self-Aware:

By connecting the body with emotions, people gain a heightened awareness of their feelings and learn to tap into their emotional responses more effectively. In this way, somatic breathwork can foster a greater sense of self-awareness and self-acceptance. You can feel various emotions, such as anger, happiness, sadness, joy, fear, nervousness or jealousy in a session.
